How to Choose?

It isn’t easy choosing where to ski in Jackson, so let us help you narrow it down. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is boundless, offers one of the best ski schools in the nation, and rises an astonishing 4,139 vertical feet. The resort was initially famous for being a skier’s mountain, super hardcore, but not to fear, it now has a run for everyone and every level!

On the smaller, more intimate side we have Snow King Mountain Resort. Snow King feels like home, it’s easy to navigate, perfect for all levels, features a tubing park, and is a fantastic place for night skiing!

Laid back and not crowded are two phrases that distinctly describe Grand Targhee. Though it feels quite cozy, this ski area is comprised of 2,000 acres of terrain, Powder skiing is offered with its own 600 acres, access provided by Snowcats. Ticket prices here tends to be lower, attracting a wider audience. No matter which you choose, we know you’ll have a great time!

It’s safe to say that Jackson Hole is no secret, especially in the winter. The best way to go about booking a trip is to try and book everything as soon as you can. Especially if you want to try and get the best prices on accommodations, researching in advance will help.

Pack Layers

If you’re an avid skier or snowboarder then you will already be familiar with the concept of layers, if not, pack layers. When you first head out on a run, you may be chilly, but having a layer or two to remove as you sweat throughout the day will feel great. Also, the weather in Wyoming is unpredictable, some days are bitter cold and other days feel like spring! Essential items to pack include base layers, waterproof ski jacket and pants, boots that will prevent you from falling on the ice around town, sunscreen, and casual attire for town outings.

Plan Down Time

It might be hard to imagine spending a single moment not skiing (aside from sleeping) but trust us, you’ll want some recovery time here and there. Winter sports take a toll on the body, especially if it’s been awhile since you last tried (or if it’s your first time!). As long as you book a stay in a cozy lodge or resort, it won’t be hard to enjoy some downtime by the fire, at the restaurant, chatting with other visitors and locals alike, etc.

One such cozy resort perfect for your visit is Snow King Resort. Centrally located, loaded with amenities, ski in/ski out accommodations, and delightfully luxurious, Snow King Hotel will be your perfect home-away-from-home during your Jackson Hole winter adventure!
