America’s favorite holiday, or one of them at least, is just around the corner. The birth of the United States is an exciting occasion to celebrate, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming is proud to offer a packed itinerary of fun. There’s something extra invigorating and celebratory about being surrounded by the Gran Tetons while celebrating the 4th. It could be because the mountains are a powerful emblem of this great nation, or perhaps it’s the raw nature, a true picture of what our country is outside of the cities.
Celebrating 4th of July in Jackson
Whatever it is, it keeps people coming back every single summer! If you’re one of the lucky people who will be in Jackson for the fourth, here’s a quick little guide on what you can enjoy around town, including where to eat, and, of course, where to catch the fireworks.
In Jackson Hole, everyone gets to kick off the holiday by eating breakfast together! One of the town’s favorite annual traditions is the JH Lions Club 4th of July Street Breakfast. Head to Town Square on Deloney Street where for $10 you can enjoy pancakes, sausages, and scrambled eggs. Live music from the community band will be delighting your ears while you eat and socialize.
Every single year the entire town lines the 4th of July parade route to wave to their friends and bask in the joy of the day. This year the parade begins at 10:30 am at the Teton County Fairgrounds and ends on Willow Street. You’ll be treated to music, horses, clowns, people on roller skates, classic cars, and more.
Best Practice – arrive early and secure a front row seat to the action.
For those guests of Snow King Resort, you’ll have access to the all you can eat buffet, poolside. The buffet includes Cajun crawfish, hot dogs, Angus burgers, watermelon, berry cobbler, and more!
Starting at 4 pm, everyone can enjoy live music in Teton Village. The styles features will be Jazz, Patriotic Pops audio feed and Calle Mambo.
Dinner + DJ
Head to Hayden’s Post, here at Snow King Resort, for a Back Deck BBQ Party. This party includes all the best things: fresh fruit kabobs, grilled hot dogs, charbroiled burgers, brined + grilled BBQ chicken, freshly squeeze lime-tinis, and blueberry lemonade margaritas. On top of the cuisine component, there will also be live music by D.J. E.R.A. This party kicks off at 6 pm and goes until the fireworks begin.
Town Square Shootout
Another quirky annual tradition the town loves is the Shootout. At 6 pm, you can watch a lively reenactment of frontier justice on the Jackson Town Square. Side note, this shootout is the longest continually running shootout show in the country.
Jackson Hole Rodeo
Though the rodeo is not a 4th of July special, it occurs every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer season; this particular rodeo is specially themed for the holiday. Spending the 4th of July evening at the rodeo is a true western tradition, and an experience we highly recommend! It begins at 8 pm and is held at the Teton County Fairgrounds.
At long last, the main event of every Fourth of July; the fireworks display. The big day in Jackson offers the finale at 10 pm with a colorful display that dances above the Grand Teton mountains; it is truly spectacular. The fireworks are best enjoyed at the base of Snow King Mountain or in Teton Village.
